Accounting Analyst

MODEC is looking for an experienced and committed Accounting Analyst who will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

•Prepare financial statements and reporting packages, ensuring compliance with current legislation in Guyana, as well as adherence to the deadlines and requirements set by the Group and local tax and regulatory authorities.​

•Execute the control and registration in the ERP system of the financial applications to ensure profitability and control of resources​

•Ensure the filing of the necessary documentation for internal and external audits and provide the address of the points raised by the auditors within the stipulated deadlines, when necessary to trigger the accounting manager.​

•Execute the routines of accounting closures ensuring that local and international accounting standards are properly applied and interpreted in the balance sheet through daily monitoring of the activities performed by the team.​

•Implement improvements in processes related to financial and accounting routines ensuring time optimization and process improvement.

Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Audit or Accounting.

•In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS)

•Previous experience in accounting and auditing is required.

•Knowledge of tax legislation is a plus

•Advanced Microsoft Office Package knowledge
