Crane Maintenance

MODEC Guyana Inc. (“MOG”) is seeking a potential SUBCONTRACTOR to be responsible for providing comprehensive Crane Maintenance services for MODEC’s operations in Guyana, ensuring the highest standards of equipment reliability, maintenance quality, asset integrity, and operational continuity.
The SUBCONTRACTOR will deliver integrated crane maintenance solutions for Seatrax Deck Cranes, including specialized technical support, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance, inspection and functional testing, spare parts management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives,
in alignment with MODEC procedures, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendations, quality assurance requirements, and operational excellence objectives. All activities shall be performed in accordance with the following international standards and industry practices:
– ISO 9927 – Inspection, maintenance and use of cranes
– ISO 4306 – Crane terminology
– ISO 4309 – Steel wire ropes for cranes: inspection, discard and replacement criteria
– ISO 12480 – Safe use of cranes- ABS Rules
– API 2D practices

Level 1 – Regular (Pre-Use) Inspection
The Level 1 inspection consists of routine, pre-use checks to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Seatrax Deck Cranes. The SUBCONTRACTOR shall perform visual and functional inspections across all major crane areas, including the cab, rear/wing deck, valve cabinet, engine house, swing area, main and auxiliary hoists, boom sections, gantry, and kingpost.

Level 2 – Periodic (Monthly) Inspection
The Level 2 inspection consists of monthly, periodic checks to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of Seatrax Deck Cranes. This inspection includes all requirements from Level 1, with additional focus on equipment condition, operational controls, and safety features. The SUBCONTRACTOR shall perform visual and functional inspections across all major crane areas, including the cab, rear/wing deck, valve cabinet, engine house, swing area, main and auxiliary hoists, boom sections, gantry, and kingpost.

Level 3 – Intensive (Quarterly) Inspection
The Level 3 inspection consists of quarterly, intensive checks to ensure the ongoing safety, reliability, and structural integrity of Seatrax Deck Cranes. This inspection includes all requirements from Levels 1 and 2, with additional focus on critical structural components, mounting hardware, and operational safety systems. The SUBCONTRACTOR shall perform thorough visual and functional inspections across all major crane areas, including the cab, rear/wing deck, valve cabinet, engine house, swing area, main and auxiliary hoists, boom sections, gantry, and kingpost.

Level 4 – Annual (Yearly) Inspection
The Level 4 inspection consists of annual, comprehensive checks to ensure the long-term safety, reliability, and structural integrity of Seatrax Deck Cranes. This inspection includes all requirements from Levels 1 to 3, with additional focus on load indicator accuracy, vibration dampeners, and detailed assessment of structural and mechanical components. The SUBCONTRACTOR shall perform thorough visual, functional, and mechanical inspections across all major crane areas, including the cab, rear/wing deck, valve cabinet, engine house, swing area, main and auxiliary hoists, boom sections, gantry, and kingpost.

Requirements:
– Experience in performing inspection, maintenance, and repairs on offshore cranes, preferably Seatrax
models.
– History of implementing and updating crane maintenance programs for FPSO units.
– Engineers with experience in establishing and executing preventive and corrective maintenance plans for cranes.
– Qualified personnel with certifications relevant to crane inspection and maintenance, such as API 2D, ISO 9927, and ABS requirements.
– Previous experience working on FPSO operations and offshore environments.
